Jesuit Alumni Volunteer

I am a 2010 graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a degree in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. Currently, I am a QlikView Developer III and System Administrator for FirstEnergy.

Since graduation I have worked in secondary education, executive compensation consulting, and healthcare analytics, filling various technology and analysis needs. Immediately after receiving my degree, I served full-time as a Jesuit Alumni Volunteer (JAV) working at Christ the King Jesuit College Prep. As a technology teacher, I taught Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

2011

The Delves Group

After completing the JAV program, I was hired as an Associate Consultant at The Delves Group. I created compensation reports to be used by corporate boards when bench-marking their executive’s compensation relative to their peer companies. The Delves Group was acquired by Towers Watson at which point I moved my career to Buffalo.

2013

University Pediatric Dentistry

I began working for University Pediatric Dentistry in 2013. I spent most of my days working with a software called QlikView. My efforts were focused on integrating our various practice management systems and providing finance and operations with all-encompassing reports. The reports I built were used to determine production, forecast revenue, and inform staffing decisions.

2016

FirstEnergy

Currently, I work at FirstEnergy as a Data Modeler. In the past, I worked as an ELT Developer, QlikView Developer, and QlikView System Administrator. At FirstEnergy, I manage a diverse portfolio of dashboards and reporting solutions for multiple business units including:

  • Energy Delivery, Executive Leadership Team
  • Human Resources, Talent Management and Diversity Initiatives
  • IT Project Portfolio Management

  • Works with the business to collect, document, and review requirements for the reporting application
  • Makes appropriate technological choices in implementation and integration of components while also giving due consideration to availability, maintainability, recovery, security, performance and governance requirements

  • Managed relationships between 18 corporate employers and 72 student interns participating in a work-study internship program.
  • Analyzed program performance data, presented results to corporate employers and staff.
  • Taught Freshman Technology focused primarily on Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Developed performance improvement program for 20 student interns who received borderline internship reviews.

Certified ScrumMaster at The Computer Workshop

In March of 2017, I attended The Certified ScrumMaster course in Akron, OH which is a two-day, entry-level course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer. The course is designed to cover all the basics of Scrum so you can begin to fulfill the ScrumMaster role.

In the course, I learned about:

  • Scrum basics and core values
  • How the Scrum framework compares to other methods, such as waterfall
  • How to identify when to use Scrum
  • A Scrum team’s three roles and responsibilities
